Saying Good-bye

Our Grandma Bowen died tonight. She has had Alzheimer's for the past five years, and her body finally wore down.

We are heart-broken, but we also know that she is in a better place, without anymore pain.

I will start posting pictures again soon. Sorry, I have been absent lately.

Lunch with "Old" Friends

My friend, Debbie and I, met with another friend, Suzan, whom we have not see for ten years, today at lunch. It was so much fun "catching up."

It is also compelling to realize that behind the "smiles" that there would have been such heartache through the past ten years. We have "grown up," since we met so long ago, yet we still feel like the same persons we were too.

Will Play For Pokemon Cards

My nephews and their friends have been collecting these cards for the past few weeks, and Brendan just started. He has about six of them, whereas the others have pages full.

Brendan decided that he will try to collect change from anyone who enters or leaves our house. He is playing the piano right now, so it really looks like he is playing for "tips."

God bless him. His birthday is in three weeks. Maybe I should get him some? :)

A New Wii Game!

My son was given the new High School Musical Wii game from his aunt for Easter.  The boys had a great time.  Even my sister and brother-in-law got in on the action, but they would kill me if I posted their picture up on this.  Haha!

I took this picture about a week ago, but did not get a chance to post it. I am doing it today, because I have to go out of town this morning. My grandmother had to be put in the hospital and she is not doing well.

Spirit Week - Day Five (Thank God)!

The Letter "T" Day. After all the thinking, he decided he wanted to be a teacher! A TEACHER! He is in a suit because he attends a Christian School and the male teachers all were suits (poor, guys)! Haha.

All I can say is, I am so happy Spirit Week is over! Now, back to uniforms! :)

Today is "Fake an Injury" Day. I was going to put band-aids all over him, but he refused to be covered in them. Haha.

Whoever thinks of these "crazy" days needs to really get a life! LOL!

Tomorrow is "Letter T" Day. They can be anything that begins with the letter "T." Any ideas?

First Concert

My brother took me to my first concert last night. It was a lot of fun. They both were great! But, I am so tired this morning! Haha!

There is no "Spirit Day" picture this morning. The day was "Grandparent's Day." You're supposed to dress up like a grandpa. How lame is that? I could not think of anything, so he is just in his regular school uniform. Yeah, call me "mother of the year."

Flower Picking

It was such a beautiful day, so the kids played outside. I was reading a book when I looked up as saw this sight. Thankfully, I had my camera next to me. I do not have the best camera so I could not zoom in really well, but I thought this was cute anyway.

Monterey, CA

I am sorry I have been away for awhile. For one, I have been having problems with my camera, and have not been "getting out" to take pictures. There has not been any opportunities to take "non-boring" pictures, and my heart has not been into it.

I was in Monterey this past weekend at a Ladies Retreat that was held by my church. It was a time to get away and have some "me time," so I feel rested and refreshed. Well, not really rested since I talked until almost two in the morning both nights with a close friend of mine.

I have been to so many "Retreats" in the past, and this one is so different from all the rest of them. M will understand what I mean about not being taught on "how to be a better church member by doing things for your pastor." Really, it was so nice. :)

Oh, and the ocean was beautiful!
